yep, and yes. (i also think it's meant to be a gift, but god knows, she has her own special ideas of courting, and i wouldn't necessarily TRUST it.)

apparently there's a few different ways, and according to stone, it's not so much that it's impossible, it's just that it tends to be really damned annoying and involved, particularly when they're due to make an appearance somewhere shortly. (i think one of the techniques involves taking it apart and putting it back together backwards.)
